There are many forms of Central Heating boiler

There are a number of kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems on the market these days. Despite the different names basically these systems usually have copper pipework, heating radiators and a gas gas boiler.

Whilst we need heating systems air conditioners are not needed in the UK and Europe because of the average temperature throughout the year. That is why in the UK most houses constructed these days are made with Gas Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.

A reliable Central Heating system is important to keep your home warm especially during winter months. Heating your home provides a relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Therefore your heating system needs to be efficient and reliable. You Central Heating System must give you the feeling of confidence that it is safe, simple to use with a long life.

There are two main types of Central Heating Systems; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

Pumped/vented systems are the most common. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System has a feed and expansion tank. The tank supplies your house with hot water and provides the heating radiators with heat. The expansion tank has enough space to allow for the expanding of water as a result of heating. You will most likely find the expansion tank kept in the highest part of the house. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.

Many homes feature a pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.

A boiler system that is somewhat newer and more modern and that most people are choosing nowadays over the pumped/vented Gas Central Heating system is the sealed system. This system doesn’t have water tanks as it’s a closed heating system, this will save you space and reduce maintenance costs as there are fewer components. There are no tanks or pipework in the attic, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.

- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the loft as with older systems.

- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the attic in a pumped/vented system.

- The risk of leaks is decreased.

- Unlike pumped/vented systems, air is not drawn through open vents so the possibility of airlocks, corrosion and sludge is much lower.

- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if necessary.

A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. The mains water supplies the water required for the sealed Gas Central Heating system. The mains water goes straight to the sealed system.

The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. A safety valve will let water to escape or fill up depending on whether the pressure becomes too high or too low respectively.

Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. Their ease of operation and versatility is much better than other types of heating.
