Gas Boiler care protection can care for your central heating system

Gas Boiler care protection can care for your central heating system

The boiler in your home is generally ignored in the summertime when warmth is plentiful, but if it does suddenly stop working, you may be stuck with measly kettle fulls of hot water and chilly cold showers everyday. The central heating system is a part of the home which is rarely, if ever, thought of, until it stops working. All of a sudden, following an unexpected problem, it becomes an essential and prominent piece of equipment but rather expensive to repair.

If you live in a rented house, your landlord will take care of all the finances related to central heating boiler servicing. But if you live in your own house, it will be wise to have a special savings pot or central heating insurance in case something goes wrong with your heating boiler.

If your boiler is over ten years old, it might be worth investing in a new model; this can cut your fuel costs down considerably, especially if you get a high-efficiency model. The type of boiler that you should buy would depend upon your existing central heating system type, the size of your family and the amount of space in your home. If you have a small home with few people and do not want to wait for hot water then a combi boiler is your best option. In a combi heating boiler water is drawn through the mains and heated immediately eliminating the need of storage tanks. Although it is a great luxury to have on demand hot water at the turn of a tap take care if you’re in the shower when someone runs the hot tap!, the system will have a limited hot water heating capacity.

The other option is to have a sealed system gas boiler which uses a storage tank, which allows bigger families to use different water outlets at the same time without affecting the water pressure or temperature. This gas boiler can easily be installed within hours and doesn’t require excess space. But hot water can get exhausted fast and not replaced quickly if used frequently because of the storage tank feature of the central heating system system.

The most space is taken , two water tanks in the attic and a storage cylinder in the upstairs airing cupboard, by a open vent central heating boiler normally found in older houses. Though it does not give the best pressure and takes a while to heat, it is very like a sealed system that can provide hot water to several outlets.

A Back boiler is another heating boiler which provides good water pressure, allows several water outlets but occupies quite a bit of space. The space inside a chimney breast is often used to accommodate a back gas boiler; but installing a new back heating boiler system to replace another type of central heating boiler is not cost effective. It would save you a lot of money on installation of a new gas boiler if a back heating boiler is already installed in your house when you moved in, as it is cheaper to replace an old back heating boiler rather than install a completely new heating system.

But, no matter what kind of central heating boiler you have in your home it can be very expensive to repair. That is why it is important to get heating insurance so you can be confident that any costs will be taken care of if something breaks down, costs which cover labour and spare parts for your gas boiler. And you could save yourself even more if you take out a central heating system maintenance policy that also includes yearly central heating system inspections, giving you peace of mind that it is operating both safely and efficiently.
