Do you know the various types of central heating system gas boilers
There are various kinds of Central Heating Systems that can be bought in the market. These systems for the most part are made up of a number of radiators, pipework and of course a gas heating boiler.
Due to the average temperature that is seen across the UK and northern Europe , people barely find the need for air conditioning. Many of us find proper heating a necessity; as a result most of the new homes being constructed today are built with a Gas Central Heating System.
With wintertime coming up round the corner heating should be at the front of your mind. While blizzards rage on outside, you can be safe and warm on the inside. This security in winter is possible only if your Gas Central Heating System is infallible, well maintained and running efficiently. A good heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.
Two kinds of Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.
Pumped or vented Gas Central Heating systems are most popularly used. An expansion tank is present in a pumped heating system. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the radiators. The expansion tank has adequate space to accommodate any water expansion that occurs due to heat. A pumped/vented heating system requires that the tank be installed at the highest level within the house – such as an attic or attic space, certainly on the top floor. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.
Many homes feature a pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.
A Sealed Gas Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and loft plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.
- Frozen loft pipes are no longer a problem.
- No maintenance or repair work is required for the pipes and tank which would have been in the loft.
- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.
- The sealing off of the system eliminates dirt buildup, air locking and corrosion that often troubles open vented systems.
- It is possible to flush out the system if required by using the mains water supply.
All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. A sealed Gas Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. The main water supply feeds the system directly under pressure.
Pressure variation can be regulated by a pressure vessel holding compressed gas; the hot water is pressurized by a diaphragm which also separates the water from the compressed gas. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
