Combination gas boiler storage space economy advantages
If you are about to set up a new gas boiler you should look at a combi gas boiler if you have a shortage of space. All you require to put in the full central heating system is a combination boiler and balanced flue. With the inclusion of copper piping to transfer the hot water to the radiators to heat your room you will be finished. Many people might enquire whether some components had been omitted from this system. Isn’t it true that most systems seem to need a feed and expansion cylinder in the attic, a water pump to transfer the hot water around and a storage tank to keep hot water when not required.
Surprisingly a combination gas boiler does not need any of these parts. The hot water storage tank can be excluded from your system, you do not need a feed and enlargement tank up in the attic, the other small component parts we have brought up are actually built into the combination gas boiler. The effect is that a lot of storage space is saved inside your home.
Do not think that all this is new as combination heating boilers have been installed for a while now. They are a very popular heating boiler in the United Kingdom and were first installed in the Continent. There are two leading deviations between this form of boiler and its better known alternatives. A fully sealed system contains the circulating hot water for the central heating. Having no open vents there is no requirement for a feed and expansion cylinder in the loft. The gas boiler itself contains a large capacity expansion cylinder but again this is part of the sealed unit.
The boiler produces hot water immediately as it is needed, switching on a hot water signals this requirement to the heating boiler. And economical internal heat exchanger enables the boiler to rapidly heat and cold water. The heat exchanger is heated by diverting circulating hot water from the central heating system. In this way fresh mains cold water is rapidly heated before reaching the hot water tap.
Automatic priority is given to the demand for hot water over water being provided to the radiators to heat up the house. Once the valve is shut and the need for hot water is removed the system will return to supplying hot water to the radiators.
It is feasible to put in a new gas boiler in a small flat and not require a great amount of room.
