A brand-new central heating boiler can enhance your central heating system
Icy winds of winter curl through the trees and you huddle at your window, thinking of heating for your home – this season perhaps you should get yourself gas central heating. And for keeping your home cosy and warm, you need a good, safe and reliable gas central heating system, not one that breaks down when the first freeze appears.
Most heating systems compromise of a gas boiler; heating radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of gas central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.
The most commonly used gas central heating systems are the pumped systems, which consists of two prominent parts, a feed and expansion tank; the tank is the core of the system, it first heats itself and then transfers the heat to the heaters through the pipes. Provision is made for water to be filled in the expansion tank tank as well as for expansion of the heated water.
There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to heat the central heating radiators. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less chances of leaking and there are no airlocks too.
So the question now is, why do we need gas central heating? Is it really needed?.
The primary benefit of gas central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. These primitive heaters invariably resulted in a harsh, sticky and smelly atmosphere.
Gas central heating ended such problems, however your central heating system should be checked and maintained regularly in order to ensure it is running at its optimum. Most people turn off their heating systems during summertimes and switch them on only during winters, this should be totally avoided as the system could suddenly develop a problem as wintertime appears. Instead it is recommended that you gradually bring them into use during autumn so that if you spot any problem you can quickly contact an engineer.
You should also keep in mind that most houses gas central heating systems can let air or dirt into it, therefore they need yearly draining. To flush the system, open the valve carefully and drain the collected water into a bucket, while ensuring that no further water gets into the heating system.
